Damascus University is the most important and oldest university in the Syrian Arab Republic. It changed into established in 1923 through the merger of the School of Medicine and the Institute of Law.
Founded in 1979, Al-Baath University is Syria's fourth largest college. It has the following schools: Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Nursing, Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Informatics Engineering, Faculty of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering, and many others. Institutes inside the University encompass: Institute of Computer Sciences ? Homs; Institute of Computer Sciences ? Hama; Higher Institute of Languages; Higher Institute of Water Management.
Al-Baath University have become selected to be the principle university to apply the sub-initiative of Entrepreneurship in Higher Education, launched through the ETF within the initiative of Euro-Mediterranean Charter for Enterprise.
