Established in 1859, The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art (commonly referred to as Cooper Union) is one of the nation's oldest and most distinguished institutions of higher learning.

It is created from the following instructional divisions: the Albert Nerken School of Engineering, the School of Art, the Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Undergraduate programs are offered in structure, extraordinary arts and engineering. Graduate diploma packages are supplied in shape and engineering.

The Cooper Union Library is a member of a consortium of instructional libraries that includes New York University?S Bobst Library and the libraries of the New School.
