Babson College - It is one of the best colleges in the Northeast according to the nationally known education services company, The Princeton Review. It is one of 218 institutions The Princeton Review recommends in its "Best in the Northeast" section of its website feature, "2011 Best Colleges: Region by Region," that posted on PrincetonReview.com. It also features the school in its book, "The Best Northeastern Colleges: 2011 Edition".

Houghton College - It is one of the best colleges in the Northeast. The schools in the “2011 Best Colleges: Region by Region” website section are also rated in six categories. The ratings, which appear on the school profiles, are scores on a scale of 60 to 99. The rating scores Houghton College received include: Academics: (83), Admissions Selectivity (85), Financial Aid (76), and Quality of Life (87).

Worcester State University - Worcester State has been named a "Best in the Northeast College" by the Princeton Review for the seventh year in a row (2005-2011). It is the only Massachusetts State College with this designation.

Hartwick College - The Princeton Review has named Hartwick College one of the best colleges in the Northeast. In its profile of Hartwick, the guidebook describes the College as “a small liberal arts school in upstate New York with a broad core curriculum, notable offerings in nursing and music education, and a ‘very strong biology program".

California University of Pennsylvania (Cal U) - For the sixth consecutive year, the College has been named one of the best colleges and universities in the northeastern United States. In a two-page profile on Cal U, The Princeton Review notes the university's "state of the art" classrooms and "variety of majors". Colleges designated as "best" were chosen primarily for their excellent academic programs.
